Baggy Shanker
Born and raised in Normanton, Derby, Baggy was elected to Sinfin Ward in 2008. Baggy served on the Council Cabinet from 2012 to 2018 covering several portfolios.
In 2020 he became Labour Group Leader. In that role he attends Cabinet meetings to hold the current administration to account. He also looks after the shadow portfolio of Finance and Governance.
Baggy served his apprenticeship at Celanese and worked there for 23 years. He currently works at Rolls Royce Civil Aerospace Division as a Project Manager.
Nadine Peatfield
Nadine was elected as a councillor for Sinfin Ward in 2018. She became Deputy Leader of the Labour Group in 2020. Nadine is the Shadow Cabinet Member for Climate change, Transport and Regeneration.
In her role as a councillor, she is a Director of Cathedral Quarter and St Peter’s Quarter Business Improvement Districts, a Board Observer of Community Action Derby, a member of Derbyshire Fire Authority and Chair of Sinfin Neighbourhood Board..
Nadine created and ran her own business for 14 years- Lots for Tots Ltd. She began the magazine business in 2008 for parents across Derby, selling the business is 2022 to concentrate on local politics.
